The purpose of the American Bar Association Margaret Brent Awards is to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women lawyers from around the country who have achieved professional excellence in their practice areas and paved the way to success for other women lawyers. These distinguished honorees are true trailblazers who serve as inspiring role models and have worked tirelessly to improve our profession. Since the Margaret Brent Awards Luncheon was created in 1991, some of the country’s most accomplished women lawyers have received the Brent Award, including distinguished justices and judges, government officials, professors, and in-house, law firm, and public interest lawyers.
